Machame, the Long Way Up
Seven deliberate days on Kilimanjaro’s most scenic mountain route, engineered for high acclimatization and summit success.
"The roof of Africa: 5,895 metres of snow and ice rising above equatorial plains."

Rising alone from the dry Maasai plains, Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano composed of three distinct cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira.
Unlike technical mountaineering peaks that demand ice axes and ropes, Kilimanjaro is a non-technical walk-up. The true challenge is oxygen: at the summit, atmospheric pressure is under fifty percent of sea level.
We run Kilimanjaro like a measured mountain expedition: using 7-day and 8-day routes, carrying pulse oximeters, sleeping in high-grade 4-season tents, and maintaining a strict pace of slow acclimatization.

Seven deliberate days on Kilimanjaro’s most scenic mountain route, engineered for high acclimatization and summit success.

Twelve days: the pristine western flank of Kilimanjaro over eight days, followed by four days tracking lions in the Serengeti.

A quiet garden stay on the western side of Arusha, away from the town traffic, and a comfortable place for the night before or after a safari or a Kilimanjaro climb. Set in leafy tropical gardens with a pool, it offers spacious, peaceful rooms, reliable wifi and good home-style meals. The staff are used to travellers sorting gear and cameras, and it is an easy drive from Kilimanjaro International Airport and to the start of the northern safari circuit.

Nestled on the fertile southern slopes of volcanic Mount Meru, these tranquil cottages are surrounded by ancient riverine forest and working coffee gardens. Black-and-white colobus monkeys leap through the canopy above your roof, while crystal-clear mountain streams murmur nearby. Fireplaces warm the spacious living rooms on cool mountain evenings. The property is an ideal retreat for post-climb muscle recovery, featuring a wood-fired sauna, deep stone soaking tubs, and gentle garden footpaths that soothe tired limbs.

Situated on the leafy outskirts of Moshi town beneath the towering snow cone of Kilimanjaro, this friendly expedition lodge caters to mountaineers and conscious adventurers. Built with native cedar and volcanic stone, the lodge features a large open-air climbers’ pavilion where guides and porters conduct final weigh-ins and health checks. A tranquil swimming pool, honest homemade cooking, and a rooftop viewing tower offering unimpeded sunrise views of Kibo Peak make this the premier launching pad for summit bids.
