Expedition Overview

This is the quintessential Northern Circuit expedition, stripped of rushing. We avoid highway hotels and lodge chains, basing each night in small canvas camps nestled right where wildlife drinks and moves at first light.

Route Highlights

  • Dense elephant family units wandering along the Tarangire sand river
  • Dawn descent onto the caldera floor before dust rises and day crowds arrive
  • Two full uninterrupted days in the central Seronera predator river valleys
  • Strict group cap of eight with window seat and 360-degree pop-up roof for all

Morning:We meet at 07:30 in Arusha for a route briefing before driving southwest past Maasai steppe.

Evening:Track an elephant herd heading down to the Tarangire River as the light turns copper across massive red baobabs.

Where we sleep tonight: Tarangire Baobab Camp, listening to tree frogs and nightjars from canvas.
