Field Experience Overview

Fly-camping is safari in its purest, most historic form. The term originates from old explorers who traveled with only a canvas flysheet to shelter from rain.

We depart the main camp on foot in late afternoon, walking five miles into a remote wilderness sector. On a broad, clean sandbar of the dry riverbed, our team has pitched simple mesh dome tents that provide total mosquito protection while leaving 360-degree views of the starry sky.

Dinner is served around a crackling campfire on folding canvas chairs. With an armed scout standing watch on the bluff, you fall asleep to the deep rasping roar of lions echoing down the river corridor.
