Field Experience Overview
Lake Duluti is a deep volcanic crater lake nestled in the lush forests ten miles east of Arusha town. Shaded by ancient trees where grey-headed kingfishers and monitor lizards rest, the water is calm and mirrors the sky.
Gliding in stable two-person canoes allows you to approach waterbirds far closer than is possible from a vehicle or on foot. Fish eagles call from towering eucalyptus trees overhead, while egrets fish along the papyrus fringes.
It is an intensely tranquil excursion, ideal for recovering from long international flights before hitting dusty safari tracks.
