Located on the quiet northern tip of Zanzibar at Nungwi, this boutique coral-stone retreat sits directly on powder-white sand where the tide never recedes too far to swim. Just twelve spacious suites are styled with whitewashed walls, high makuti thatched roofs, hand-carved Swahili daybeds, and billowing linen draperies. Turquoise water laps the sand thirty paces from your private veranda. Fresh seafood is bought daily from local wooden dhow fishermen and prepared with crushed ginger, lime, and coconut milk.
Nine days: five days tracking big cats across the savanna, followed by four restorative nights in northern Zanzibar.
