Tucked inside the labyrinth of narrow alleys in historic Stone Town, this restored 19th-century merchant residence preserves authentic Swahili-Omani architecture. Behind heavily studded teak brass doors lies a tranquil inner courtyard centered on a cooling fountain and flowering frangipani. Rooms feature four-poster Zanzibari beds draped in mosquito netting, Persian carpets, and antique copper mirrors. The rooftop tea terrace provides an enchanting vantage point over stone minarets, church spires, and dhow masts at sunset as the evening prayer calls echo.
Nine days: five days tracking big cats across the savanna, followed by four restorative nights in northern Zanzibar.
